As an architect or interior designer, you know how important it is to choose products that meet both aesthetic and sustainability requirements. Studio Doms designed Wavy – a modular, recyclable waste bin that also leaves a tangible mark.
We want to be part of a world in balance. That’s why we’re partnering with CleanSea – an initiative founded in 2019 by twins Lukas and Mikaela Julher, who are driven by a love of the ocean and a desire to fight plastic pollution.
Wavy is more than just a product – it’s a step towards cleaner oceans. For every unit sold, CleanSea removes 1kg of plastic and litter from our coasts.
Twins Lukas and Mikaela Julher, who grew up having summer adventures along the Bohus coast, founded CleanSea in 2019. One day, they discovered a bay covered in plastic – the sight raised concerns and ignited a strong drive. So they started CleanSea with the mission to save the oceans from plastic pollution. Since then, they have worked tirelessly to clean up marine plastics, driven by their love for the ocean and the desire to protect it for future generations.
Every hour, five bathtubs of plastic wash up in Bohuslän and millions of marine animals die every year due to ocean pollution. CleanSea’s mission is to reverse this by clearing coastlines, seabeds and islands of harmful plastics and rubbish, to create a future where our oceans thrive with life, not waste.
Sustainability is at the centre of Wavy. The modules are made of 20% recycled steel and have a long lifespan. We have designed the product for a circular flow – you simply replace, renovate and recycle the parts. As part of our sustainability efforts, Wavy has an EPD declaration, which provides a transparent and detailed report on a product’s environmental impact throughout its life cycle. It allows you to compare materials and make informed and sustainable choices. Check the full EPD here.
